This is a striking and functional work of sculptured art in dark orange bronze. A sink for ritual hand washing before meals or for the the priests', blessing of the congregation in the synagogue, its smooth flowing spirals reminds one of a wave or a sea shell. Two abstract male and female shapes in the sink design, together form a whole. Water pouring out of the tap flows in a spiral pattern and this water symbolises the union of man and woman in purity. The smoothly finished spiral sink grows out of a rectangular wall plaque with contrasting rough, spattered texture. There is a rounded, flat-topped extension to hold the hand washing vessel. For discriminating connoisseurs of innovative design-suitable for dining rooms or synagogue vestibules.
