Sculpted in polished golden brass and set on a wooden base. Adam and Eve, composed of two intersecting planes stand on either side of the Tree of Knowledge, also made up of two intersecting planes. The snake, an extension of the Tree, entices Eve who is reaching up to pluck the forbidden fruit, represented by circles pierced in the plane of the Tree's foliage. The essential unity of all the participants in this primal drama is reinforced when you see that Adam, Eve, the Tree and the snake are all hewn from the same plate of brass.
